Beware Bogus Prospects using 070 "mobile numbers"posted on 10 August 2011 | posted in Announcement | ( 5 ) CommentsThis is where time will really costs YOU money! As a business or individual you may not be aware that though an 070 prefix may look like a normal mobile number - it certainly is not! Not being aware of 070 prefixes could cost you dearly! A 070 prefix is a Personal Numbering Service which means the call charges can vary.. We have had experience of bogus enquirers who are charging from 72p per minute for the privilege to call them, leave a message or speak to them. How does the fraud work? The bogus prospect makes contact normally via your website using the "contact us" or "require a call back". They leave a name and a 070 number. Also adverts have appeared inviting you to call these numbers. . When you call back and leave a message it costs you! When you do finally get through the call mysteriously drops so you call back it costs you! Each time you call back-even if is for only for a few seconds (when connected) you get billed a full minute! To make matters worse they will make plausible excuses to keep you on the line. They need to find stuff...just wait a minute...are you busy?... can I put you on hold for a minute? etc. All this is a BLAG to keep you on the call as long as possible. Their aim is to keep you on for upto 20 minutes-costing you around £13.80 YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! Here are some of the bogus numbers:- 07014219269 07053501134 07053501281 07053501282 07045502833 Share this blog entry:
