One In Three People Will Die In Debtposted on 10 August 2011 | posted in General Category | ( 0 ) CommentsDebt is such a big fear in the UK and new research has shown that one in three people will die in debt. The figures are astonishing as a huge debt storm his building on the horizon for 2012, with personal insolvency set to rise to record levels over the next two years. Nine out of ten people have run up unsecured debts and many now fear that they will never be able to pay back what they owe. In the UK today 89% of people aged between 18 and 35 say they owe money on credit cards, loans and overdrafts. Currently 54% of people say that they need to borrow money to fund and support the lifestyle they want, and a third of Brits have admitted that they will probably never be debt free. But a shocking statistic is that one in five people said that they were not worried if debts were passed on to next of kin, should they die and the debt never repaid. Debt Advisers at Integrity say that half of the people in the UK who owe money do not know how to control their debts, and a lot of those people will try and turn to family members of friends for help. They also say that " It is no suprise that one third of Brits in debt think that they will never be able to pay the debt off. To make matters worse people are trying to hide from the responsibility of paying it back and get lazy and complacent. If people are struggling with debt, then they should get professional advice and help asap". In the UK today there are different debt solutions available to help people with debt. But people should be aware of poor advice from companies that offer a solution but only have the companies best interests at heart. Too many times do we see people who have only been offered one or two solutions, when in fact their actual individual debt problem and situation has not been looked at properly. This then means that that person in debt is advised poorly and put into the wrong debt solution. Advisers at Integrity also warn against poor debt advice from charities as there is a growing trend of people going to them for advice and being passed straight on to 'selected' companies. This is unfair practice and people need to be well aware of this. If you have any debt concerns or problems then please contact us for further advice on 01743 272900.
